I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet. From the latest Previews:

PURE IMAGINATION

THE LOU FINE TREASURY VOLUME 1 TP
Includes stories featuring The Ray, The Black Condor, Uncle Sam, and Doll Man. These
super-rare tales are reproduced sharp and clear using the "Theakstonizing" method.
Includes an extensive biographical overview of Fine's career by historian Greg
Theakston. (CAUT: 4)
SC, 8x11, 160pg, b&w $25.00

Until we get the Archives, this is a nice little volume.

I'm not ordering it sight unseen. I need to know how different it is from the "Lou Fine Comics Treasury Vol. 1" Pure Imagination put out 12 years ago before I order it. It appears to be longer, but the characters line-up is similar. I can't seem to get their web site to work today to hunt for more info...

Luckily, I don't have that problem, so I will be ordering it.

It's clearly not the same book as the one he published in 1991, since that one was only a hundred pages.
I guess what we need to know is if this is all new reprints, or if he's simply padded out the old volume with some new material, and if so, how much?

Clearly I'm missing something -- how does one get to this information from http://previews.diamondcomics.com ? If I click "Comics", I get a page with only 16 books -- I can't find detailed descriptions of any books other than those 16.

Where should I be clicking?

Try http://www.previewsreview.com . There is a link on the page. They have not to link directly, otherwise I would have just posted the link for you.

If I had to guess, I'd say that some of the Lou Fine material used in the earlier volume would be used in this new volume. But, since I only glanced through the earlier volume when it came out, and never read the whole thing, I'll be getting this new volume.
I hope that the black and white reproduction is at least passable. Theakston is putting out similar volumes on Alex Toth and Jack Kirby, so I'll be getting those also. The Steve Ditko Reader just issued by Pure Imagnination had its faults, but was pretty good, so I'll be getting their reprints as they come out.
